Galatea was owned for many years by Albert Strange Association member Richard Blomfield and most restoration was done by Alan Staley Boat Builders.

Some photos of Galatea, rescued from "having her top hacked off" to become an open fishing boat, then restored in stages to her present condition much as originally drawn.

Albert designed her as either transom or canoe sterned gaff yawl, but she and her sister Ariel were originally built as gaff cutters. At some stage Galatea was converted to a Bermudian cutter and finally converted by Alan Staley for ASA member Richard Blomfield to her original designed rig.
